Photograph by László Vákár, likely taken during the interwar period on the feast day of St. Anne. The Csobot Hill Chapel has medieval origins and is the oldest pilgrimage site in Gheorgheni. Above the Papkert, along the old road, wooden crosses once marked the stations of the pilgrimage route, which devout believers and families occasionally replaced with stone crosses depending on their means. According to the memoirs of P. Arthur Vákár, Catholic Secler and Armenian pilgrims and traveling families traditionally reached the top of the chapel with loud, communal prayers.
